Hi there! I'm Rebecca. I'm a college freshman living in Illinois, and this website is where I post all of my art.
I began this website when I was a junior in high school. Although I have been drawing and painting on my own since a young age (some of my earliest creations can be found on the underside of my family's dining room table), I took my first art class as a high school sophomore. Throughout high school, I have taken an Art I class, drawing class, painting class, and an Advanced Studio Arts class. My media ranges from watercolor to ink to everything in between, but I developed a special interest in stippling while taking a drawing class my junior year. During my time in Advanced Studio Arts, I had the opportunity to focus more on stippling and further develop my pen and ink portraits through a series of pieces focused on a "concentration statement." Although I enjoy drawing and painting just about anything, people are my favorite subjects. They are the most complex subjects, with characteristics that exceed the surface and add a certain depth that goes beyond ink or paint. I enjoy the unique stories that come with each person, and I love sharing those stories with others through art. I love having the opportunity to share my art with others, and I have been in several art shows and contests both locally and nationally. I have received honorable mentions in various shows and was awarded first place in the drawing category at the Central Illinois High School Art Exhibition at Illinois State University. In my free time when I'm not creating, I enjoy hiking, running, reading good books, and drinking coffee while petting my beloved cat, Raja. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] with any questions, comments, or cute cat photos. |
